Years ago I discovered these photographs collected by my grandmother, Lucy Drummond, and my great-aunt, Carmen Franks. They depict their mother's sister, Aunt Mary, who had moved to Providence, Rhode Island, in the early 1900s.
Although my grandmother's family were located in Honolulu, HI, and Aunt Mary was in Providence, RI, they corresponded and exchanged pictures often. Carmen and her husband, Francis Franks, took a trip to visit them in the early 1920s and took a number of the pictures seen below. My great-uncle Louis, a sailor, and my grandmother, Lucy, also visited them on occasion.
I have tried to arrange the photographs in as near chronological order as I was able and to label them as much as I am able from the notations found on the back. I am hoping that some of these people will seem familiar to someone on the East Coast.

Thank you for visiting! — M Engel (Lucy Franks-Drummond's granddaughter)
